ABOUT ME
Jessica holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Pennsylvania State University, where she specialized in contemporary and musical theatre vocal technique, and has completed graduate work in Musical Theatre Pedagogy at Rider University. A versatile and experienced performer, she has appeared professionally on stage, on screen, and in the recording studio. After more than a decade living and performing in New York City, she relocated to Lancaster, PA, where she co-founded Creative Pursuits Studio, a multidisciplinary performing arts space, and subsequently established Creative Pursuits Academy, a non-profit performing arts school. Jessica began her teaching career in 2012 and has remained deeply engaged in voice pedagogy and musical theatre education ever since. She presently serves as Interim Director of Special Music Programs at Carnegie Mellon University, where she leads the university’s K–12 Music Preparatory School and Music Extension Program. In this role, she oversees all aspects of the K–12 community music education program, where she also founded the Preparatory School’s vocal program, and directs a team of instructors and staff serving students across the greater Pittsburgh region. Jessica also teaches applied voice through CMU’s College of Music Extension Program, working with college students and adult learners, and is a member of the voice faculty for the Musical Theatre program at Slippery Rock University. A college professor for the past eight years, Jessica previously served as a musical theatre voice professor in the Musical Theatre BFA program at Lancaster Bible College. As an educator, Jessica is dedicated to advancing evidence-based, sustainable vocal techniques that prepare singers to meet the diverse stylistic and physical demands of today’s evolving musical theatre industry. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes vocal health, technical versatility, and artistic authenticity. In addition to her university teaching, she maintains an active private voice studio, working with students of all ages and experience levels. Jessica is a proud member of Actors' Equity Association (AEA), the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), the Musical Theatre Educators' Alliance (MTEA), and the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA).

"Jessica has been a guiding light in my pursuit of a career in musical theater. She helped me choose appropriate college audition material, and coached my audition cuts. Without her understanding of the college audition process, and her knowledeagble advice as to how to best showcase myelf, I would not have gotten in to a school for musical theater. "
-Rebecca Goebel, Bachelor of Arts in Theatre with a concentration in Musical Theatre at Temple University
